Goal: Create a teaching staff that is highly qualified to teach students in heterogenous groups of L1 and L2 and to support the use of a Dual Language Enrichment model.
Action:
Meet with administrators to discuss the implementation of the new DLE model.
Attend 3 day training on DLE model and how to implement in effectively into the classroom.
Meet with teachers to discuss use of DLE.
Meet with teachers on a monthly basis to discuss progression.
Survey parents and students on effectveness of program. (Beginning and End of year)
Complete research by end of year 2011.

ReplyDeleteMy one concern is that you would be attending a three day training on how to implement the DLE model, but I do not see training for your staff. I would include that specific information. I would also include ongoing staff developments on the training. There may be a part that is a little more difficult to accomplish and by using the Delphi Method, teachers could express their concerns in these unfamiliar areas. Is there any kind of assessment that could be used for the students to see progress? Just a thought....
