Action Research

Throughout the course of this assignment, I have discovered that action research can be a very important part of making your school and the student’s successful lifelong learners. Action research is the term used to describe an inquiry based investigation into the workings of a classroom or school. Unlike traditional research, in action research you take the methods and strategies currently used in your classroom or school and analyze what is working and what could use improvement. After this is done, if you find an area that can be improved you research methods of improving this area and how this will benefit the students.
I feel that action research is something that as teachers we may do all the time and not even realize it. Many of us are constantly trying to find new methods for engaging students and increasing achievement. However, now that I have discovered how beneficial action research can be and how it can work to improve student success, I feel that I will be using it more often within my classroom. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that ALL of our students are successful. Although we may not be able to find one particular strategy to work for all students, it is important to find what is best for them and incorporate it into our teaching
